[R-005] Their Kingdom Depths [S-059]
Deep in the nightmare world resides a body of water that at a glance seems endless. At the bottom of this body of water, dimly lit by the moonlight above, are remnants of what might have been part of a castle once. You dive in to explore, perhaps a bit too curious, and oddly enough you don’t seem to struggle to breathe under the water. Still out of apprehension you hold your breath, just in case something should change. You make it to the structure below fairly quickly.
After wandering through the corridors of the ruins eventually an odd place comes into sight. The entire area is submerged and worn, but here there is a stillness. Water does not fill this single room, a grand library of undamaged books and notably...an enormous manga collection. It's unclear how this place remains unscathed or unaffected but it is curious nonetheless. As you reach out to inspect a volume a hand juts forward from behind you and a chilling voice warns... "I would not touch those if I were you." You

[D-007] A Tedious Hobby [S-085]
It was a little past sunrise when Falcata settled down beside a stand full of plants on the flat’s porch, carefully pruning a few plants that Vivaldi had accidentally bumped. They had started to decay and with a little sympathy towards Vivaldi, who had little luck when it came to raising plants, Falcata was careful to trim off the dying leaves. These plants were not his for the most part but he had mostly taken over the job of pruning them. The bulk of the flowers and herbs belonged to Morgan who had a mutual agreement with Mugi to grow the herbs for his cooking. No one quite knew why Morgan bought flowers but Falcata didn’t particularly care so long as there were plants to trim, should they need it.
There was something very relaxing about maintaining plants but Morgan had scolded him the first time when he over-trimmed a plant and accidentally killed it off. He had felt guilt over the incident that Vivaldi had noticed his sulking and thought up some way to make Falcata fee

[M-004] Carefree Cafe [S-059]
Mugi settled into a chair at a café with a bit of a scowl on his face and bags under his eyes. The café was lovely…however the noise from work being done outside the apartment complex was a real nightmare. “One cup of tea and a pumpkin crepe with cinnamon apples please.” He asked the waitress that came to take his order. The café was a regular spot for Mugi who occasionally needed to escape the chaos of the flat for some reading time and today was just that sort of day. He pulled out a book and settled in to relax. He would never regret staying up those extra few hours to finish the last few chapters of a suspenseful manga series back home but now it was hitting him hard at the café.
Normally he wouldn’t have had to get out of his pajamas back at home but here he had dawned something a bit more casual. A cozy knitted sweater covered him while a pair of sweat pants kept his legs warm. He had brought along a pair of reading glasses for a book o

[D-002] The Mysterious Red... [S-159]
Sneak sneak. Sneak sneak. Crouch…and fwoosh! Hm. No that wasn’t quite right. Mars was sure he had caught it. For a few days now it had been wandering around his tree, this mysterious red dot. Today was the day he would catch it though. As he drew near it shied away and down a path. With his focus on the dot Mars easily lost track of where he was. Only acutely did he pay attention to his surroundings and even his form. The normal sized large stygian had begun to shrink down in size for convenience without even realizing it. He was now a very small tuxedo cat prowling after this mysterious dot.
The air around him changed as he weaved between hooves and feet on the street and down an alleyway. His feet getting a little wet in the process. He gingerly walked over an entranceway mat behind a store as he continued on his quest. What was he hoping to achieve when he caught it. Would it taste good? For some reason there was something very appealing about the red dot. Maybe it would

[D-007] A Seasoned Chef [S-059]
A pleasant smell of food cooking wafted through the apartment early in the day. It was a fairly average morning for Mugi. The rest of the flatmates were sleeping still as he prepared a meal that would surely summon them. Cooking was not exactly his favorite hobby but even he wouldn’t deny that he had a knack for it. Once in a blue moon another stygian would ask him how he learned to cook and he would confess to reading more than a handful of cooking manga and a few books some authors recommended. He shifted his weight slightly as he flipped the omelet he was cooking and shifted a few pieces of bacon that were cooking too fast over to the cooler side of a different pan.
He let out a relaxed sigh. Mornings were so quiet and peaceful. There was only one thing others usually never asked him. Rarely did anyone ask why Mugi, who had no greater design than to spend the better part of his life immersed in literature, had taken up cooking. The reason why he had started cooking was probabl

[D-002] I Do That. [S-059]
It was a calm afternoon when Mugi ambled into a bookstore. A new volume from a series he was following had come out and it was enough to draw him out of the house and venture a short trip to the bookstore. Normally he would have gotten there sooner but today his roommates had caught him to make breakfast before he left. Mugi almost always prioritized books…but some things like breakfast for the other flatmates meant less rent he would need to pay. Less rent meant more money he could spend of books of course.
Walking through some familiar aisles he came to the new releases section and scowled a bit. There was only one copy left and he lifted it up gingerly, if only to secure it if it was the last copy. Upon asking if it was though his concerns were confirmed. He had almost missed grabbing this volume…and shuttered slightly at the thought of waiting for the continuation. No. That would have been too long to wait.
He checked out and headed for a park he had passed on his way t

[Q-003] Order and Chaos - The Black Door [S-202]
Kek took a deep breath as he stepped past the threshold of the black door. There was something about the black door that held promise. It was the promise of freedom. Promise of something more enthralling. Upon entering the door Kek was met with a labyrinth of vintage toys. Somehow this was different than he had expected. The familiar things seen through the threshold were gone and Kek found himself wandering. He was lost again.
How long had these toys been sitting, collected in this place? He wondered. He wandered only a little deeper before he thought he heard a voice. No. Not just one voice but many. Kek covered his ears with his…paws? He had been so bewildered he hadn’t even noticed he was no longer in his previous form. Rushing forward he sought the end of the labyrinth but found himself deeper in it as the voices fell into a chaotic jumble of noise. He only paused briefly beside a broken mirror in his rush to catch a glimpse of himself. What he was never fully register

[Q-001] Order and Chaos [S-202]
‘Wall to wall filing cabinets...just absolutely everywhere.’ Kek thought with a sigh as he meandered through the dream. His shape was that of a kid with messy pink hair, likely due to his short stature, but it held no bearing on his age or knowledge. In the dream world Kek often preferred this form if only because he was just a hair taller than normal and it put him at ease when he was a bit lost at times like this.
His blue eyes drifted over the details with disinterest. Such a mundane scene was reminiscent of past jobs he had held. To Kek there were few things worse than shuffling papers for hours in the confines of an office of sorts. Where was the fun in that? What stygian was so organized they would seek out help with such busy work, from him especially? And who was even dreaming of such things now? Could this place even be called a dream?
The questions rolled through his head as he sought out a change in scenery. Papers slowly folded in the dream until the roadside wa

[A Fey in Need] Sense
Moonlight pooled into a small clearing in the woods where a small fire crackled between two elnin. One rested against a tree while the other slept deeply beneath their cloak. The cloaked elnin stirred ever so slightly but it was enough to draw the attention of the other. They had only been here a few hours but time seemed to creep as though it had been days.
“Listen…our problem…furry things…the not treats…die!” The words seemed to fade in and out, nothing more than a memory from a few days prior to the elnin who slept. It was the last word that struck him though. In an instant the slumbering elnin was on his feet but his thoughts were muddled. Long locks of hair were tangled with worry and the elnin’s racing heart slowed as he realized where he was. This was but one of many sleepless nights for the elnin since word had spread of the Breglin’s actions. “Oh, you’re up again? Another bad dream, herald?” The words seeped int

You'll usually find me drawing or writing when I'm not coding. I adore all mediums of art but most of what you'll see here will probably be digital art. In the past I've worked with glass, clay, felt, textiles, and more traditional drawing mediums like graphite and ink. I have a deep appreciation for animals and fantastical creatures usually inspired by animals.

I'm a pretty quiet person when first meeting others but I try to respond to all comments. I really love meeting new people but I am an introvert so I tire quickly in social situations. Feel free to drop me a note or comment here if you're ever interested in just chatting but please have patience with me in case it takes me a bit.

I have a wide range of interests including drawing, crafting, agriculture/gardening, video games, and programming. I can usually relate but I'm no expert on any one thing. If you ever want to talk about something though I'm always interested in hearing more about the world.

Anything signed Starborn, Starbask, or Naiko in my gallery is mine. I go by many names due to the fact I post these on a few sites. I've also changed my signature a few times. Please don't trace, use, or repost my artwork elsewhere unless I have given you permission to do so. Thank you!
