[ QUEST D- 001] Nightmare/Dream archive - Submission 5 - Word Count: 403

I dreamed I was at a college of some kind and had yet to find a room. For some reason most of the student body had gathered at a patio sort of area and were chattering away about various things they had brought with them. For some reason some of my nicer brown dresses were sprawled out among others next to some luggage. There was also a parasol one of my friends from the waking world owned but for some reason I inferred it was mine in the dream.

I met a few people before wandering off towards a dorm that was a rounded building similar to a tower. It was a fairly large tower though and inside it I was akin to an ant. I walked up a staircase that wound around the outer wall until I got to the first floor that had dorms and benches along the outer wall instead. Students sat chattering about and I plopped down beside a girl and we talked for a while. I got the sense she had already found her dorm and settled in but she told me of her aspirations to be a programmer. I found humor in it since programming is what I do for a living. In the dream I was oblivious to my reasoning for even being in this college setting.

After talking to her I headed back to the large open area where the students had gathered and grabbed my luggage, dresses, and parasol. I got the idea that we got to choose our rooms but they had to be split between four roommates. For some reason there was a bit of confusion on paying rent for the space and we also had an extra person written down despite there only being four people in the room? I felt a sense of unease not knowing who would be kicked out.

After discussing concerns over how to pay rent at the place I became a bit more conscious that it was a dream. I realized a portion of the rent given to me by another person in the room wasn’t actually from them at all, as I was starting to confuse rent from the waking world with rent there and pulling numbers from my head somewhat randomly. After that I awoke still a bit confused by what had happened but at least I could be sure it was a dream.
